half of the reason i'm so excited about red/blue rescue team remakes is that the friend areas where recruited pokemon would congregate were some of the the most beautiful environments in the game, and i can't wait to see them remastered

Thanks! I'd say the foundation of environments is learning how to manage values and composition. Black and white studies are a good place to start. Rendering & color are important, but secondary.
