I also people would like to see a new look on characters, I just wish the direction people chose wasn't so... god awful. I wish new creators knew how to respect the old while creating new. Her new run is damn near unreadable because of how awful her new look is.

I'm guessing the entire, like, art direction for the series changed (just going by the two characters who appear in Ultimate), which is probably why she was redesigned so radically. One for a more goofy cartoonish style, and one for a more series anime-ish style.

When Sparkle Solution was being handed out, we had to figure out some of Sparkle Cadet's villains. After seeing reference Jack Kirby when he designed her monsters in previous episodes, it only made sense to push her rival in the same direction!
