Lemme show you something! The original for this I did had a different FX from the hand and the face was dramatically in shadow to highlight the eyes. This worked as an image, but didn't read as well on a card and didn't focus the face like they wanted, so it i adjusted it.

Similar to how I presented that comparison image, I like the way the colored pixel art looks over a monochrome/toned hi-res portrait. It's want I'd like to do with my character select screen. Mugen can't do it, but later on in another engine, I'll do this.
