“THE MAXX sits next to Mad Magazine and Calvin and Hobbes as one of the major building blocks of who I am as an artist and writer. It’s part of my DNA now and I will always be grateful to Sam Kieth for sharing it with all of us.”—

I had more than one artist. 😉
Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls)
Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Lab)
Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes)
Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2)

Calvin and Hobbes in the newspaper, especially on Sundays. I didn't understand what the majority of Watterson's stories were about and appreciate them more as an adult, but when I was a kid it was the first time I realized that someone /drew all of this/ and maybe I could too https://t.co/LFc5PuL6Uj

I think I'm inspired most by nature, and by cartoons from the 60s-90s--Calvin & Hobbes, Pogo, old Don Bluth and Disney movies c:

Things I Love : Calvin and Hobbes by the genius Bill Watterson. One of my favourite things ever. The characters, the storytelling, the tone and my god the art. This is a monumental work, as good as it gets and a HUGE influence on me.

Phoebe and her Unicorn has the exact same vibe as Calvin and Hobbes and I really recommend it to everyone not in the least because there's a canon nonbinary unicorn in it
