The dark hair shadowing below the beady eyes is inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist Brother Sloth
Also both theories put forward that the woman in the middle is a younger Bakkin from her time on the Rocks pirate crew and that would be cool foreshadowing. The only real evidence though seems to be her anime colour scheme but I dig it regardless.

People have already pointed out how similar Hunter and Dell look, but I also want to point out that Dell's palisman is likely a yellow cardinal, a rare genetic variation of the normal red in the birds.
