Metroid Dread. I've dabbled in the Metroid series before, but Dread was the first I played start to finish. Punishing and generally unforgiving to newcomers, I still absolutely loved this game and will probably play the other Metroid games now when I can.

The timing on the C64 version is really unforgiving.
Last year I tried out the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad versions and, though I'm team-C64 all the way, in this case the Amstrad version is so so much more playable. It feels like they finessed the controls and got them right. 👍

It's kinda like doom, but without the bloody face. 🙂
It's a good game, but the timing is just too unforgiving.
(Much more playable on the Amstrad, I have to say.)
