you know what i think that for me it's a byproduct of being REALLY into Saiyuki when I was younger. it wasn't the feet then, it was the gloves, but it's that same kind of design. Whenever I see shoes or gloves like this in character designs now I just immediately lose my mind

Much of these design motifs carry through to X2 and X3. Look at these designs and really count the number of colors, notice how often they use the whole damn box. See the repeated shapes of the arms and legs, the white gloves, connective bands, ankle insets, random lights...

Here is the last minute outfit I threw together for the finch for FC, I had black hand paws I coulda used but I had nothing long sleeve fantasy and I wanted a fantasy look, I did have latex werewolf gloves, so I took the finger tips off that and did a mid-transformation thing :D
