Another Character that keeps an initial design is Link. Prior to BoTW, Link wore a green tunic and green cap in every game. In fact the change of design in BoTW was so jarring that at first PEOPLR WERE QUESTIONING IF IT WAS LINK AT ALL. This shows how important iconicism can be!

Qinni passed away of cancer today. It's really jarring and sad and I think the first artist to die I didn't get a chance to meet. She was making jokes and planning artbooks and looking at wigs and now she's just gone.
So a lot of people are upset about mascots like Mr. Peanut, Chuck E. Cheese SpongeBob getting turned into babies or "modernized." This might just be me, but I don't think those changes will ever be as jarring as this one
