Instead of Mermay- I’m doing Mummay.
I don’t plan to do them everyday but I’ll try and make a few mummies for the month.
Here’s a Sphinx Cat ‘mummy’ to start.
In Greek mythology it was said that red-haired people turn into vampires after they pass. Red-haired mummies have been found in different parts of the world, including Egypt & Peru. Some say redheads expanded across the globe after residents left Atlantis. @MythologyMonday
Love the wonderful celebratory woodcuts by David Gentleman in this Saint George & the Dragon mumming script by John Langstaff from 1973.
@ms_winford ROSALIIINDE 💕 My very fancy undead! A corpse mummified in a Gilnean bog over ~2k years, she now works as an undead nurse/repairwoman. Some of her favorite things include growing flowers, dressing fashionably, and indulging her hedonism by spending beyond her means 💕
The Frog Prince, but he’s not very “princely”. His friends are worms and bog mummies and he collects coins from the dead 🪱✨
Thanks to more art shown by @SethKearsley, I was able to restore these Rath renders as well #mummiesalive.
Finally Pharaohbon sleeping with Hitomibon tying mummified as pillow hug. Sorry for wrong choose color because i felt tired a bit.
Very first Mummies Alive image restored thanks to the art shown by @SethKearsley.
自分の作品のアクセス数上位はほぼマミーか競水なのですけど、この人はレアな例外です。どの辺が琴線に触れてるんだろう・・。
My pics that get many hits have mummification or swimsuit scenes, but this is a rare example that became as popular as them! What is the hot point of her..? :3

Anubis
The god of mummification and embalming in Ancient Egypt.
Usually represented with a black canine head. Pic from Wikipedia

Revisiting glorious photos by @Tetisheri13 for #GoldenMummies - this of a helmet-like 1st Century(?) CE mummy mask from Hawara, showing a Graeco-Roman gilded face - but richly enshrouded in Pharaonic imagery. Notice the bronze eyelashes and goatee!😍
@hatersgonnahate So both of these? And with Puna and Spider Willard - basically everything that used to be a human is still considered human? Oh yeah, at least it's consistent! 😁 So if you do TR4, all the skeletons, zombies and mummies will be counted as human?🤔
SEASON 1 = Tecna’s vine eleganza. She reinvented the mummification game.
The essence of The Mummy is a person who had been tortured and cruelly put to death by being buried alive. We wanted to show the pain of that in his expression and the centuries of desecration to his flesh. Visual inspiration came from the mummies of Guanajuato & The Bog People
Initially, I imagined it to be something like a "mummified harpy," but I switched the position of the wings and feet halfway through the drawing.
When I look at it now, I thought the projections on the head crest be in the way, so I drew it without it.
An amazing parade over the weekend in Cairo saw 22 royal mummies relocated to the newly opened Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. Among them was King Seqenenre Taa, who features in the opening of my graphic novel Ahmose. Check it out on Kickstarter - https://t.co/nOV6Vvsc3R
I'm REALLY enjoying the work from #NFTartist Bitbones (@Bitbones1) at the moment, these are my favourite three #NFTs so far:
Mask Bitbone (for obvious reasons)
Van Gogh Bitbone (for obvious reasons, again)
Mummy Bitbone ('cos mummies are cool af)
