There isn't much flesh/landmass surrounding the bones at all, specifically around the arms and underneath the legs where the flesh would typically fall after rotting.
The problem with this is it's only Ian Flynn's Shadow that acts like this, even just with western media. Evan's Shadow is played with a bit more kindness beneath his edge, and Caleb Goellner's Shadow from the TSR one-shot is far more logical and reserved.

@MrMeowsie I’m a virtual cat! Pascall is a cat whose head and limbs were replaced by synthetic robotics. He still has a normal skull underneath the helmet but it’s probably gross. The fuzzy version is probably a Maine Coon cat!
