I’m trying out some character design. I want to make a pirate girl character with a rock element. I came up with a number of silhouettes and combined the elements I liked from each into another design that I painted.

Some monster designs I've been working on. For all the flack I give new pokemon designs, it's really really hard to make interesting concepts with unique silhouettes, simple shapes, and distinct personality. Not quite there, yet.

So because of technology and other stuff, the Thedas-to-real world parallel is a little iffy, but Orlais is very obviously Fantasy France, and a lot of the silhouettes we see in game lean very 17th-18th century.

Just trying to imagine the pure terror bears must’ve induced on anyone who was alone and unarmed in the forest inspired me to make this deformed piece.
