It's more trial and error. I process color oddly as I go from darkest to lightest as it is easier for the eyes when experimenting with digital paint brush tools. This is 2019 semi comps/digital sketchwork learning and I currently don't use this style as I am just novice 1/2

For instance, the leftmost image is tracey-tracey using a mouse in Paint 3D, and then edits were made with same tools. The rightmost one is hand-drawn by me, then redone with the mouse in Paint 3D by me.
