Man, Generation 1 is SO much better than the later games. It had great designs, like Damn Daniel. Compare that to trash in Gen 2 like Spyro!

@ColdCriti Visual identity doesn’t end at just shading, that’s like saying AoT S1 doesn’t have a distinct visual identity because MHA and other anime also had thick linework. I’m thinking about directing, designs, palette choices, the movie-like battle scenes, etc.

Genesis Surviver Gaiarth has a lot going for it. Nice animation, cool mech designs, and a coherent story all wrapped up in a 50 minute OVA. Bonus points for actually having an ending (something not all OVAs had…) Definitely interested in checking out the other episodes.
