3. Longclaw the Owl

Sonic being raised by an owl is *not* taken out of nowhere, amazingly enough. It was Sonic's backstory in the 1993 UK book Stay Sonic. Additionally, an ancient Owl civilization is alluded to in Sonic 1's level design.

The reason why Sonic avoids Amy is literally because Amy is and will always be too young for Sonic. She didn't grow up, she was altered by the Ring of Acorns to appear older. It's the revese "fake loli"

Chronicles was the last Sonic game to give us such stellar 2D artwork for modern Sonic. He's so expressive in these shots alongside the rest of the crew.
