"I wanted to show that an African-American artist could make it in this country on a national level in the graphic arts. I want to be a strong role model for my family and for other African Americans."

Cried thru news. Impulsively emailed an African-American acquaintance getting a D. D. in race relations. “What can I do?” A: Pray for strength to remain resolute. It’s going to take all of us. Give the unheard a very loud voice. Vote.

All police officers aren't killers.

All African Americans are not criminals.

But all are human.

All of us have a responsibility to change how we are seen by (and influence) the next generation.

Before Caribbean people start saying African Americans doing too much let's just take a look at what our ancestors did for our freedom, just in case you forgot or slept in history class.

No one should ever have to fear for their lives everyday because of the color of their skin.
I am a Filipino American woman and I personally have not felt the fear and oppression that the African American community in this country faces on a daily basis.

Oda Nobunaga had one non-Japanese retainer. An enslaved African that he named Yasuke. But Nobunaga saw past Yasuke's skin to his strength and enjoyable conversation. Freeing him and trusting his skills. Oda freaking Nobunaga saw past color. We should too.
