A doodle is like... little-to-no effort put into art. Or like a concept of sorts. Like pic 1 is a doodle. Pic 2 is a concept sketch. Pic 3 is a drawing. And pic 4 is what I call “full blown bitchass illustration.”
It’s all art, and none of them can be labeled “bad”

Nowadays I almost always do a teeny tiny thumbnail sketch, print a blown up copy to redraw over, then scan and color online

For the more kissy art, I usually just draw it fullsized straight out and hold onto my eraser for dear life
