I decided to paint Deputy Assistant Butterfield with his wife, Charlotte Butterfield.
Mrs. Butterfield, based on what I have seen and read of her, seemed like a rather nice wife and private lady.
I love putting pen to paper, getting lost in the process of drawing. You can only learn to paint by drawing, for drawing is a way of reserving a place for color in advance. Drawing it turns out is a continuing source of learning rather than a string of performances.
