I don't know if it was entirely the cuteness or the fact it was a cool and unique concept, but it really inspired me overall. In 2015, I mostly focused on cell/soft-shading work, but when 2017 hit I focused primarily on painting.

@SwiftNinjaFox Funny thing was that this was one of the examples where Amano's artwork actually had a LESS over the top look.
