For the theme of the story I wanted to concentrate on gritty smoky/diffused light and shadows. So I would draw only in shades of B&W with light/shadows and then later add subtle colour overlays.

comparing art from 2018 to now hurts (the last 2 are from now bc one wasnt shaded but it was a holiday parallel and compares my old & current holiday art taste)
mostly it hurts bc all i drew was cookie run and very few are full images bc i hated fullbody works with a passion
