a common practise in exclusive/non-mainstream Transformers fiction is the use of 'virtual redecoes', in which characters' appearances are based on the designs of existing TF toys, without said toy in those colours existing officially.

They are very menacing! (and way too complex to draw xD) I imagine them as some sort of defence/surveillance pokemon, I get shield/eye vibes from them. It'd be cool if the shiny version had Ghetsis-like colours

This took about 4-5 hours and still didn’t come out how I wanted but maybe next time I should use actual watercolour paper instead of mixed media. Taking a photo at 4am isn’t exactly a bright idea either as it distorts the colours. BUT HAVE IT ANYWAY.

It is. Skyblue doesn’t have the manifest form, has different shoes, different eye colour & different body size. The only thing connecting the two are the colours in the outfit and the hair colour. Plus there’s a second form that looks like this which looks nothing like sky at all

Flats!
Flats are super good for working out whether your colours are going to work. If your flats don't work, your shading definitely is NOT.
I also do a lot of colour holds on my linework, this helps to knock some detail back, and make the characters pop.
