Wasn't overly happy with the old background, so I did what I do in photoshop. Better? Worse? Thought it may look more clean for prints.

First time I tried adding in a background, it doesn't look great, but I'll keep trying to improve

Dubbed her Shell.
Still drawing the background, but I'm a few hours away from finished so I decided I'd post these.

The portal was imagined as being both materially present and part of the cosmic backdrop. I wanted to create a sense of impermanence, as though the portal could suddenly dissolve into the background, the path leading to it devoured by the waves, the moon blackened.

Finished clowngril, I changed her colors bc it was bothering me that she looked like she was from Hazbin hotel. 4 versions! Transparent, and with background, two with lots of blood spoopyness!

Take a moment to explore the muted colors, organic shapes, and lotus flowers in “Lotus Flowers: A Landscape Painting in the Background,” 1885-90, by Martin Johnson Heade. https://t.co/05LUDEpTRR

A bold line pops portrait from background, providing contrast to its more subtle shading.
