With SA1 in particular, most people unanimously agreed to Amy and Eggman having excellent redesigns and just moving forward with it.

I'm still grateful people are liking both Amy's nowadays, since I can see something cute about her.

I'm not interested in any legal discussions being had about Amy's character here, but I will simply say that as an 11 year old girl in a 17 year old's body (pre-SGW), she has mentally matured over the years.

Similarly with Amy as well, I don't know a soul who ever claimed to prefer her classic design prior to Mania. It's only recently Amy's classic look has become admired alongside Sonic, but even then this preference is far from aggressive like Sonic.
