In hindsight, one of the best decisions Oda made was to not include romance between main cast. I craved it as a kid, but it was smarter not to. Most romance/love sideplots in shonen end up kinda lame onscreen and often hurt the story and likeability of the characters

In hindsight, I thought the longer kimono didn’t quite fit Pearl’s cheerful personality, so I made her tie around her waist a little darker and the cardigan longer instead. The string that ties the cardigan together is based on one of Maya’s SOJ concept designs
