It's more of the principle it entailed, not Sonic being unable to fight.

1. Dr. Quack gave him a clear bill of health at the start

2. Sonic never broke is arm, he was burned badly by a laser. He has an arm sling, not a CAST.

3. Sonic's fighting overall fine in the next issue.
