Here with my fingers getting cold on this soon to be winter here in Chile, South America. On top of it, the southern hemisphere winter goes along with the Aphelion so further from the sun (a little) but that means winter-like weather lasts longer (in a Kepler orbit). UwU 🤗

The beautiful Lagoon Nebula, located about 4,100 ly from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. The Lagoon is one of the two active star-forming regions visible to the eye in the northern hemisphere (anyone wanna guess the other one?). It's especially visible with binoculars.

It's chucking it down here on this so here's some of the plotopterid Copepteryx getting rained on. Plotopterids were a group of Eo-Miocene penguin-like birds that lived in the Northern Hemisphere. Some grew quite large - about the height of a human.
