As a sort of previously unreleased conclusion to some of my posts from a while back, I'm happy to publicize what's more or less Kiki's new design!

Changes are stupidly subtle but they helped boatloads in making her into a proper RQM character. Hope you all like the new look!

12 finished pieces for 2019. That was a pretty good run for finished art though still less than 2018 which had 17 finished pieces. Big step forward to me this year was getting confident in backgrounds. Also subtle changes in the way I color has added more quality.

Little bit of a throw back to when my bff asked me to draw her DnD character. She's a pure blood Yuan-Ti and the patches of "dirt" are me trying to be subtle with scales. The snake she's supposed to be is a Bandy-Bandy Snake. You'd see more scales if she wore more revealing cloth

For here's a private commission of Tiktaalik I completed earlier this year. It took some time to get the body shape right as there's lots of subtle nuances to tetrapodomorph anatomy. They weren't just gars with funky heads and limbs.

Religion can often overdetermine a character. Nightcrawler is an example of this in certain eras, but Claremont folds religion into Kurt, and others, with a respect and subtlety that rings human, and can maybe reach across perceptual barriers.

i always feel like my drawings are always doodles and don't look 'finished' no matter how i try lol .....

i've just been experimenting with subtle things but maybe the key is clean lineart mostly (which i usually just scribble down lmao). I'm still trying to get it right 🤧
