I’m so sad to hear about Mia Ikumi passing
One of my favorite artists. Id look at the manga for HOURS just absorbing all her style. I loved it so much.
Inspired a LOT of my characters n writing when I was a budding artist. Heaps of fanart/OCs from the early 2000s. Rest in peace.

rest in peace mia ikumi. you've been an inspiration for as long as i can remember. i remember doodling mew ichigo on papers from elementary to middle school, and even now i still can draw her from memory. thank you mia for your wonderful impact on my childhood.

I cant believe Mia Ikumi passed away. Tokyo Mew Mew will always be my favorite and inspiration for some of my own drawings I don’t showcase.

I spent so many hours as a kid trying to copy panels and covers of Tokyo Mew Mew to learn to draw. I started drawing and never stopped because of you. Thank you, Mia Ikumi for inspiring so many of us to draw.

Mia Ikumi's work has been an influence in my art for over a decade. She inspired a generation of anime (and animal) lovers across the globe. I wish she had been able to see it completed, but I'm sure her impact will only continue to grow with the upcoming reboot. Rest in Peace ❤️
