I’m so sad to hear about Mia Ikumi passing
One of my favorite artists. Id look at the manga for HOURS just absorbing all her style. I loved it so much.
Inspired a LOT of my characters n writing when I was a budding artist. Heaps of fanart/OCs from the early 2000s. Rest in peace.
rest in peace mia ikumi. you've been an inspiration for as long as i can remember. i remember doodling mew ichigo on papers from elementary to middle school, and even now i still can draw her from memory. thank you mia for your wonderful impact on my childhood. #tokyomewmew
So sad to hear about Mia Ikumi passing.. I love Tokyo Mew Mew so much, Mew Ichigo is my favorite magical girl design out of all the magical girls out there. Rest in the sweetest of peace Ikumi-sensei & thank you. (₌ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣ ᆽ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣₌)
I cant believe Mia Ikumi passed away. Tokyo Mew Mew will always be my favorite and inspiration for some of my own drawings I don’t showcase.
Rest in paradise 🥰✨
Mia Ikumi was the first artist to truly inspire me and make me who I am today. Hearing that they’re gone hurt more than I thought it would. I still hold your work dear and am grateful that I stumbled onto a copy of Tokyo mew mew at 11, Rest In Peace Mia Ikumi
Not the post I wanted to return with, but I feel its important enough to deserve it. Mia Ikumi, the artist of Tokyo Mew Mew, passed away last week. She will be missed and loved by many touched by her work. Goodbye and rest easy to one of my biggest inspirations. 💙 #miaikumi
I wanted to say thank you Tokyo Mew Mew for being one of my inspirations to draw and grow as an artist. The impact it has on me growing up and will continue to for years to come. Rest in peace Mia Ikumi, and thank you so much for all you've done for me and many more. 💗🐈⬛
Zakuro was my favorite...
I spent so many hours as a kid trying to copy panels and covers of Tokyo Mew Mew to learn to draw. I started drawing and never stopped because of you. Thank you, Mia Ikumi for inspiring so many of us to draw.
#tokyomewmew was one of the shows that helped mold the magical girl sub genre and along with others like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor, Precure, and yes Madoka Magica. If this series didn’t exist, I probably wouldn’t be here speaking about it right now. Thank you Mia Ikumi…
Rest In Peace Mia Ikumi ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Mia Ikumi, i hope you knew just how many girls you inspired and empowered💕
I’m crying so much right now I’m so sorry. #MiaIkumi was only 42. She was so young & was supervising the Tokyo Mew Mew reboot for the past 2 years. Her art inspired me since I was a kid & this show is a huge part of my life. Thank you Mia. You made a positive impact on us.🍓🌍🕊
It was painful to hear that Mia Ikumi is no longer with us. Tokyo Mew Mew was one of the first manga hyperfixation that I had. Your art was a big inspiration for me, may you rest in peace.
In the wake of Mia Ikumi's passing a lot of artists are sharing how she had influenced them. I think one interesting thing to point out is how her series spawned tons of fan made anime under the tmm premise, its something I don't think i've seen any other series have

Mia Ikumi's work has been an influence in my art for over a decade. She inspired a generation of anime (and animal) lovers across the globe. I wish she had been able to see it completed, but I'm sure her impact will only continue to grow with the upcoming reboot. Rest in Peace ❤️
