I promise that when's redesigned Arilyn's outfit a while back that I based it off a maneki-neko adding clothes to be able to hide her ears and tail if she wanted to.

I'm guessing the entire, like, art direction for the series changed (just going by the two characters who appear in Ultimate), which is probably why she was redesigned so radically. One for a more goofy cartoonish style, and one for a more series anime-ish style.
