I see octopuses quite often when I go snorkeling, but usually >3m deep, v narrow bandwith of sunlight can reach, removing all color. The other day I saw one on a rock just few cm from surface, full spectrum of light. It flashed at me the most intense colors. Blew my mind 💜💙💛🧡

Wow, thank you everyone for the kinds words and likes! Fun fact: For the colors, I choose to make my versions more pink than purple to make them feel like they are more alive with sub surface scattering. In the shadows, I'd make the colors more purple due to sky light.
