Experimenting a lot in this one, but mainly trying out double-wide pixels with a not-so-mathy sort of palette (The work I've seen that's in D-W is either in CGA, C64, etc.) I also wanted to try a no-dither style, so this is all Hatching!

I then wanted to create a sort of 'proof of concept' to show the team at T&F the degree of detail and fidelity I could manage before I set off creating the entire thing. I started with Firelink, obviously. Working in pen on paper and then scanning to colour in Procreate.

Holy shit. The new gundam, Gundam Aerial, has a shield that acts as funnels as well as some sort of psycho frame.
The design is v sharp and clean too I love it a lot.
The only thing I want for a remake/continuation of Ouran is that Haruhi would be canonically non binary and bisexual (it was sort of implied in the manga, although the story never did much with that).
