Super Mario Kart is 30 years old today. Racing generally isn't my genre, but SMK put a unique spin on it with a colorful cast of familiar characters. The gameplay & controls are excellent. Battle vs mode is great, too. Koopa Troopa is my favorite racer.

Another misinterpreted sprite for me were the Koopas in Super Mario Bros. I think because I grew up on SMW I just assumed that the Koopas in SMB were also bipedal. It wasn't until a later game (I think Galaxy) where they recreated the SMB pose when I realized I was wrong.
