Some of my friends were asking what kind of filters I've been using, so I made this to help explain it.

I don't often use this many filters, but I wanted to give Tide's colour palette a bit of extra pop.

I've always wanted to make the lower half of his undershirt glow too. :^)

I can see what you mean about the values. I took your pic and added a filter to it (noir) and whatever that filter did it really made the waterfall pop. It’s possible your values feel muddy because they’re close to each other and it needs a darker value to help with the pop?

What did you guys think of Monkey Prince issue 1 ? The tone isn't necessarily my preference, but judging it for what it wants to be, it's a solid start. Love Bernard Chang's art. The colors pop. Marcus trying to overcome his fears is interesting and relatable.

Want to know how to get good at drawing? Start small. And I don't mean draw big objects with no details. I mean draw leaves, rocks, blades of grass.

Start small, and pull texture images from the internet to help give your image that POP.
