i kinda use multiply when shading and overlay my drawing on a fading background

it makes it look good

1- No overlay 2- Overlay

Both have multiply and for lighting i dont add too much but all i rlly need is a shine on the eyes using add layers

Here’s a quick comparison between using “multiply” to blend color and shading VS the “painting” method. This is why I prefer to use the “painting” method in my work.

@blackcatgirlz fr tho i usually have to take into account what kind of hair texture am i giving them and then block it out with a solid color and change the layer to multiply then set the opacity lower

Btw guys, if you're trying to mimic the twewy style, they use a greyish purple color in 'multiply' layer to do the shading. The value here isn't exact, but close for the in-game sprites. They use a darker shade for stuff like official art usually, but still the same method.

This may be the last wip i will show of this drawing.

Getting the highlights down, i mainly need to highlight the wings, clean up highlights, and add a second multiply shading layer and do the darker shading and im done.
