down in flames / current refs + ink tests for this fix sketch. following @LeStatusKuo's lead, im gonna try working with the 4-color zorn palette
In case anyone is curious, this palette comes from swedish painter Anders Zorn. He made super amazing paintings with just these four pigments! I'm always amazed at how much color variation he manages to get! I used practice using this palette in school, it was really helpful.
Zorn palette exercise, gonna try to do a painting a day for the next 10 days with this palette! I think it’s a great way to improve color sensitivity and management! If anyone wants to do it with me, I included the palette!
Anders Zorn was in Madrid seeking portrait commissions when one morning, as a joke, he decided to paint a Swedish consul as Mephisto.
Finally got to see one of my favourite artists in the flesh. #ZORN at the Petit Palais. You can't even find his work in print here in the UK, man dem too busy chatting about Sickert!

Did a study of Zorn's "Love Nymph" but tweaked it to my own sensibilities (I wanted to finish it for #mermay but lol that didn't happen)
Anders Zorn's 1892 Paris painting, "Omnibus II." His decision to capture that streak of sunlight across her face has always knocked me out.
