see this "dreamworld" art as people colloquially call it gets it better. the angle and hand resting on top of the stone gives it a much better perspective of roundness instead of flatness, I think, like you can really tell that it stuffed a rock in its pants

Here's a quick mock up I did to show if the "fixed" version was looking straight on. As you can now see the one eye is actually out of place. This is due to the fixed version actually breaking the perspective of where the face is looking.
