Basically you color a frame with base colors, then draw the shade areas in a separate layer, choose an out of place color for them, blueish color in pic related for example. Export it separate from the base color layer.
Import into both in AE or similar.

I made my 2019 art summary! More than anything, I'm just proud that I drew enough this year to have something for every month, even when I didn't have a computer! This year I learned a lot about colour and composition, and I want to keep working on those areas in the next year.

Another 2008 vs. 2019- same character. I'd like to think I got better in some areas but a lot stayed the same. My 2020 goal ( 1 of them ) is to really set down an idea of the style i want to draw in and focus on completing those drawings.

Back with an update in grayscale! Looked pirmarly into fleshing out certain areas. As for the color direction, I do think I'll go with the color scheme I've shown last time, but try a different method to colorize it.

The first image is honestly from 2010, that's about as early as I could go or find. But, I think its fair to say that I've improved in some areas, and not in others. (Tidy edges, I'm looking at you.)

The textures are terribly bad. In a city or another small place, I don't care, but in the wild areas, Mario sunshine has better water and the ground is ... The display distance in the wild areas is bad, but the worst is in town. It's not logical, Let's Go were more optimized! 3/6

Today I discovered the "Linear Burn" layer filter. When you apply a light source and/or weak shadows they turn out very correctly. Creating a groundwork with this method is fast and easy.
But it only works in well lightened areas & you can't draw the entire art with this anyways.
