this is what it was before i rendered the lighting! i color normally without lighting first (left), then add a dark overlay and messily throw some light around to figure out how i want it (right), then when i’m satisfied, i go back and refine it (the final vers above)

Figured out how to paint pearls the easy way, after rendering make a Hard light layer use an airbrush a diff color, next make an overlay layer airbrush another diff clor!

process is shit take doodle, paint over with base colors and small adjustments, gradient map for colors i actually want, render layer and overlay texture

But the lighting looks a lot different same thing with my OC
One used NO lighting and there's no filter or overlay
The second image I took a PINK LIGHT filter and you can clearly see the difference in skin color and hair color and everything despite using the same fucking base-
