I wanted to do another recreation of something I drew last year, it was one of the first things I attempted to draw ’realistically’ (using that term lightly) without lines. It’s just a simple bust of Beat but I wanted to see if I’d really improved in a year or not!

I had only a very short time before this morning to jog down to the river and catch a few photos on my iPhone as the sun attempted to break through the mist. I’m nevertheless pleased with the results. It’s a spot I love to photograph at this time of year.

So I attempted to change up how I do my lineart and coloring by doing all the lining first and then color instead of doing it by parts (body, hair, etc) and I think this ended up finishing up much easier than before.
