Sal Buscema & Sam Grainger! I think this art team was one of the best; I loved their Avengers run particularly Avengers (Jan 1970)! Grainger was a fantastic inker on Avengers & X-Men! He passed away in 1990, but when I look back at Bronze Age art Grainger’s inks catch my eye!

The pencils & inks are really, really well done in this scene 😳.
Love the use of pitch black, from the background, silhouettes, to the shadows on Mark. Sometimes half his face or his eyes are subsumed. It's a dark scene narratively, in which Mark is very conflicted, so it works.

I thought today I’d dig out another of my G.I.Joe RAH covers from the vaults issue 242, I really enjoyed drawing an underwater theme for this one! Scarlet vs Cobra Eels. I took inspiration for the theme from Bond Thunderball, great inks&colours by Jagdish and James Brown!
