@bdragon74 @Helmie_Art Basically Blaze's origin is a Pegasus being corrupted by Nightmare Moons darkness. Making him a bat pony is an additional layer of corruption, where he loses his visible "humanity" in favor of serving the queen.
Also he was originally a dragon OC, so it can be a nod to that
