I absolutely love hunting for details in a messy sketch. After I define my large shapes and the flow of a piece I actively look for ways to create chaos that I can refine and hunt for patterns in when I'm creating.

I love starting very loose with a piece using big brushes, each pass after is just further refinement. This sketch has already been cleaned up quite a bit from a rough start but I couldn't find anything earlier.

I usually draft the initial concept/idea for an image pretty fast but end up spending a lot of time trying to refine and fix things, esp if the original sketch got too sloppy LOL

When I have a clear idea in mind I tend to draw the main elements, then refine.

March 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of Vampire Hunter/Night Warriors! The second installment of the Darkstalkers series revamped and refined the innovative and experimental foundation of the previous game into a solid title that had a thriving competitive scene in its day.
As people started mining ore, they noticed something sparkling within the wall of the dusty tunnels. They soon began to swing their pickaxes against it, to refine and craft those beautifully sparkling gems into jewelry.
