In the concept stage I was going to have Sage wear a Celestial cheongsam. But Angie walked me through the symbolism of red & gold on Lunar New Year, as well as pointed out the Celestial fan's meaning!
She also suggested the subtle satin embroidery for the final cheongsam 🥰

Drawing a pic of one of Lupa's ancestors. Scandinavian embroidery is pretty tricky to make a pastiche of. Interestingly, it looks a lot like Ojibwe embroidery.
