In Ganbare Goemon: Uchu Kaizoku Akogingu, Ebisumaru gets an extendable boxing glove, which allows him to latch onto a hook to jump to a higher platform. It's a bit of a tricky weapon to start with, but will get used to it over time.

In Ganbare Goemon 3, Ebisumaru's weapon was a hula hoop. After freeing the Red Oni from a mirror, he receives a red and white hula hoop, which allows him to latch onto pegs to climb up or down.

Both Goemon's Great Adventure and Ganbare Goemon: Kuru Nara Koi! Ayashige Ikka no Kuroi Kage were released on December 23rd, 1998. The reason being was that Konami wanted to do a "double deal" since N64 sales in Japan were rather mediocre.
