I just woke up 😸 it was a nice surprise to see Ama-san upload another work. I think this style of colouring works amazingly well with the shading and linework. There is visible contrast between the character and background, I think the colours enhance that. 😍

Flats!
Flats are super good for working out whether your colours are going to work. If your flats don't work, your shading definitely is NOT.
I also do a lot of colour holds on my linework, this helps to knock some detail back, and make the characters pop.
