My wife Donya made these absolutely incredible traditional illustrations at the start of her career.
So much of her work was produced for magazines that I don't think very many people have seen now.
I just wanted to shine a light on the artwork.

They were, but kids were making their own zines long before the end of ww2, around the 1800's.
They ranged from the cheap Akahon (red books) to the more expensive hard cover collections.
It was Post-WW2 that there was a boom because JP was so entertainment deprived.
