Generally normal hatching is less messy but requires more line stability and control. There you rely on line thickness rather than crossing lines to control the values within the drawing.

Matidto's design was slowly refined with continued research; mostly pertaining to the motifs used on his rather than the structure itself. The main inspirations are the outfits worn for the Sagayan war dance, and the geometric patterns of Inaul (woven cloth of the Maguindanaon)++
