Breath of Fire done. Felt archaic even by SNES standards. I enjoyed the early parts but some later dungeons were pretty horrible and the random encounters became quite obnoxious. I enjoyed the world/characters (even with the limited dialogue/scenes) and powers. Mild recommend.

I highly recommend. It’s a beatifully inked story with gorgeous backgrounds, set in Iceland.

With this I was pretty inspired by the mangaka Panpanya whose work I wholeheartedly recommend. Her manga captures an extremely enjoyable and well executed tone of exploring surreal/unfamiliar/uncanny/absurdist locations and scenarios with a great visual style.

So I just burned through ‘s Bonds of Brass and I have to say it’s everything I’ve wanted in a novel: exhilarating dogfights, laser guns, power suits, even more powerful women, and men kissing in spaceships. Highly recommend.
