I'm not sure actually. We still use the Trailer eyes for comics (I think) and the latest trailers

Maybe it was easier for animation? The in-game glow seems to use the whole eye, no pupils to animate

the mask he's usually seen with is worn over it. This has multiple purposes. First it make him easier to draw for others. but more importantly it helps him breath and eat properly without causing a huge mess. Also because his original appearance tended to spook kids

an update to my bushy girl work in progress. I still have to animate the front shoulder, the rear arm and make some... adjustments to this motion. But it has become easier for me to keep track of the shapes these little squares make.
