You are right in a way, for some reason they styled Jonathan as Joseph from the Japanese Volume 8 Manga Cover even though on the poster it is still Jonathan. There's never been a reason given as to why they done this.

1. Dio's fingers and Jacket are complete Manga traces.
2. Dio face is also based on the one panel spread of when he was in Wind Knight Lot's Castle.
3. The beads hanging off of Jonathan are based on this Jpn Vol. 3 Cover.
