A year ago I completed this painting of a bearded Iris for my first published magazine tutorial. It was such a wonderful experience and huge thanks goes to everyone who helped to support me through the anxious process.

Over the years I have moved away from painting mixed studies, but this is an old favourite. The winter subjects chosen for the diploma portfolio piece were collected from a local hedgerow and garden, even now I keep an eye for what's growing.
